BMAC - Biopharmaceutical Manufacturer's Advisory Council

The tropical climate conditions pose an important challenge for pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities based in Singapore that rely on chiller plant to provide ideal temperature and humidity conditions in clean rooms. As a result, the chiller plant is constantly in operation and subjected to high stress and utilisation levels due to the tropical climate.

BMAC has begun a pilot program to reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs for the chiller plant, which will be outfitted with intelligent controls.

The development of intelligent controls will begin with simple data iterations and progress to advance machine learning capabilities, reducing the need for human intervention to a bare minimum. This process requires top notch engineering expertise and deep operational knowledge of our engineers to create automated machine controls, which will one day be self-sufficient to learn and evolve the controls to best in class performance. The program has a lot of potential and is expected to cut energy consumption by up to 30% and operating costs by tens of thousands of dollars per year.
